ARREST FOLLOWS STATION CAR PARK COLLISION
A woman in her 60s has been arrested, after a collision in the car park at Diss train station.
The incident happened yesterday morning on Station Road, at the entrance to the parking area. The rider of a motorcycle was taken to hospital with serious injuries, after the collision with a van.
Police are appealing for witnesses, including a man wearing an orange t-shirt who is thought to have seen the incident.
INQUIRY UNDERWAY INTO FATAL ROAD CRASH
An investigation is continuing into a fatal road accident at Redgrave.
A 67 year old cyclist died in hospital, following a collision with a tractor and trailer in Fen Street on Friday. He’s been named as Leonard Bates, from the Ingham area.
NEW TEMPERATURE RECORD SET AT TIBENHAM
A new record temperature for the August bank holiday was set in Norfolk yesterday.
The mercury rose to 28.6 degrees at Tibenham airfield in the morning, slightly beating the previous record, set two years ago. It then carried on climbing upwards in the afternoon to over 30 degrees. Temperatures will drop back to the mid 20s from tomorrow.
STATION GETS SIGNAL POWER BOOST
Park Radio has been given permission to increase its signal strength.
Ofcom, the radio regulator, has agreed to increases in power for both of the station’s transmitters in Diss and Harleston. Final official approval is awaited for the change in the next few months.
It should improve reception in the station’s current broadcast area and hopefully widen coverage in South Norfolk and Mid Suffolk.
CANARIES MOVE INTO CUP ACTION
Norwich City are in cup action tonight. They travel south to meet mid-table League Two side Crawley Town in the second round of the E.F.L Cup competition. Meanwhile, City captain Grant Hanley and teammate Kenny McLean are included in the Scotland squad for the forthcoming Euro 2020 qualifiers.
