BIKE RIDER DIES IN A140 COLLISION
Police are appealing for witnesses after a motor-cyclist died in a collision with a car on the A140 at Dickleburgh.
The bike rider, a man in his 50s, died at the scene of the accident on Friday afternoon.
PEDESTRIAN HURT IN TOWN CENTRE ACCIDENT
A pedestrian was airlifted to hospital on Saturday evening after being hit by a car in Diss town centre.
The accident took place near Greggs’ shop in Mere Street, reportedly causing serious injuries to the pedestrian.
FUTURE FOR TOWN CENTRE STORE UNSURE
The future of the Beales department store in Diss is still uncertain, with the company saying it may go into administration unless a buyer can be found.
The company is talking to two potential buyers and also to its landlords about possible rent reductions for its 22 stores. It’s also criticised local authorities for not helping High Street retailers more.
CANARIES CRASH BUT BLUES LIFT THEIR HOPES
A bad blow for Norwich City as they try to climb off the bottom of the Premiership. They crashed to a heavy 4-nil away defeat against Manchester United, and are now eight points from safety.
Ipswich Town are back in the top three of League One. An emphatic 4-1 home victory against Accrington ended a run of games without a win, as other teams in the promotion race dropped points.
HARLESTON MISS OUT IN TOP OF TABLE CLASH
Harleston Town dropped off the top spot in the Anglian Combination Premier, after losing at title rivals, Norwich C.E.Y.M.S. They lost 3-2, despite taking a two-goal lead and seeing the home side reduced to ten men. Scole United also lost away – by the same score-line.
DISS HAMMER VISITORS
Diss Rugby Club firsts crushed struggling visitors Epping Upper Clapton by 76 points to 20. The win means Diss hold on to fourth place in London 2 north.
