DISS TOY SHOP TO CLOSE DOWN

A high street shop in Diss to set to close down later this year.

Toybox Toys is to close its doors in September, after being in business in the town for over 20 years.

Owner Roy Minshull says he has taken the decision with the lease on the shop in Mere Street due to come up for renewal.

He says that the chance of another business opportunity and increasing competition from online outlets had also played a part.

HOLIDAY LETS UP 20 PERCENT ACROSS SUFFOLK

Holiday-cottage operators in Suffolk say they’ve experienced a rush of bookings, with some people wanting to arrive on the same day.

Bookings are said to be up overall by nearly 20 per cent compared to last year with interest in both the coast and the countryside.

NEW ATTRACTION AT DISS CORN HALL

The Corn Hall in Diss has a new attraction.

A specially made long wooden bench has now been installed, created by nationally-known artist Gary Breeze, from Diss.

The bench, designed and made by him, includes a planter at the top, filled with lavender plants.

His work was recently on show at the Corn Hall and can be seen around the country including the Imperial War Museum and the Princess Diana Memorial at Althorp.

NEW DEFENDER SIGNS

Football…and Ipswich have completed the signing of Accrington defender Janoi Donacien.

The 24 year old St Lucian has signed a loan deal for the season and will confirm the move when his work permit is approved.
