MAJOR FIRE IN COTTAGE
Fire crews have been tackling a major incident at a thatched cottage in Barningham.
Most of the building in Pound Lane has been damaged after fire broke out in the roof, which then collapsed. Two people in the cottage escaped unhurt.
DRUG TESTS FOR SUSPECTS
Police in Norfolk may carry out drug testing on suspected offenders after an arrest.
The initiative has now been brought in across the county, after a successful trial in one area. The targeted tests are aimed at reducing crime and helping to identify users.
‘VIRUS’ FARM TO EXPAND
Plans have been approved to expand production at a poultry farm near Eye, where there was a recent outbreak of bird flu.
New modern units are to be installed on the site at Homefield Farm at Athelington, allowing a significant increase in the number of birds there from 28,000 to around 40,000. The company says the move will ensure the viability of the farm.
FAMILY APPEAL OVER MISSING MAN
The family of a missing Gislingham man has made an emotional appeal for his return.
47 year old former Royal Marine Lee Fitzgerald, a father of two, was last seen in Diss, nearly two weeks ago. His family say they are desperate for him to make contact.
NARROW DEFEAT FOR CITY
Norwich City stay rooted to the bottom of the Premiership after failing to improve their away form last night. City went down 2-1 in a close-fought match at Tottenham, with Pukki equalising with a penalty in the second-half, but they conceded the winning goal with ten minutes left.
