HERITAGE TRIANGLE ROAD CLOSURES FINAL STRAW FOR DISS BUSINESS

A former shop owner in Diss has been speaking about her decision to close the business recently.

Kirsty Howard says that traders in the Heritage Triangle deserve more support.

She says that she closed her Gluten Free store in Cobbs Yard after failing to make up losses during the area’s revamping.

She’s told the Diss Express that the road closures in the Heritage Triangle for weeks were the “final straw”, with shoppers not returning in previous numbers.

SEARCH FOR MISSING NEW BUCKENHAM MAN

A search is underway for a New Buckenham man who’s been missing for nearly a week.

49 year old Wayne Clouting was last seen in Attleborough last Friday and police say they are now growing concerned for his welfare.

He’s described as white, 6ft 1inch tall, average build, with a bald head and a tattoo on his arm which says ‘dignity’.

NON-ALCOHOLIC BEER PROPELS SOUTH ELMHAM BREWERY EXPANSION

A Suffolk brewery is stepping up production after strong demand for its recently-introduced line of alcohol-free beers.

St Peter’s brewery has brought new state-of-the-art bottling equipment on-line and also bought extra land for expansion at its base in South Elmham.

The move follows a big boost in sales after launching its non-alcohol range of beers two years ago, which has helped to put the firm back into profit.

The company’s plan is to increase production from the current 4 million to 16 million bottles a year.

FRIENDS PLAN 70-MILE RIVER WALK FOR CHARITY

Two women are planning to walk the full length of the River Waveney to raise money for charity.

The two friends intend to walk 70 miles from the river’s source at Lopham Fen in Redgrave to its end at Great Yarmouth next April.

56 year old Karen Lomax from Fressingfield and 48 year old Jane Wheeler from Yaxley plan to raise funds for two charities, Cancer Research and Crohns and Colitis UK.

SPORT

Football and with the transfer deadline closed this evening, Ipswich have completed the signing of Kayden Jackson from Accrington.

It looks like they’ll still try to sign Rangers forward, Josh Windass….. but now on a loan deal……but Town have given up on bringing defender Curtis Tilt to Portman Road from Blackpool.
