FIRE SWEEPS THROUGH FARM HOUSE
A fire has badly damaged a house on a farm at Finningham.
The blaze broke out in the large wooden building on Gislingham Road yesterday evening. A total of 15 fire crews tackled the flames, which are thought to have gone through the roof and spread throughout the house.
The cause of the fire is not yet known and it’s understood that no one was hurt in the incident.
WAVENEY VALLEY MAY MISS WORST OF THE WEATHER
It looks like the Waveney Valley will miss the worst of some stormy weather set to reach the east of England in the next few days.
A yellow warning has gone out for heavy rain, strong winds and thunderstorms at times in parts of Norfolk and Suffolk on Friday and Saturday. Forecasters are now predicting thundery showers for most of tomorrow morning locally, clearing by the afternoon. Strong winds are still expected throughout Saturday morning and afternoon, with gusts up to 48 miles an hour.
FORMER ROYDON MAN BARRED FROM TOWN CENTRE STREET
A former Roydon man has been given a court restraining order, stopping him from going into a street in Diss town centre.
40-year-old Jamie Shand has been told by magistrates to keep away from Mere Street and not to talk to members of the public or staff in shops there. Shand, who now lives in Cambridgeshire, was involved in several incidents
in Diss, including one of assault, later making false reports to police.
He’s been given a three-year conditional discharge, but told to serve a criminal behaviour order and to pay £525 in compensation to people involved in the incidents.Norwich City have added another loan player to the squad.
CITY ADD ANOTHER SIGNING
Norwich City have added another loan player to the squad. Defensive midfielder Ibrahim Amadou has joined for the season from Spanish La Liga club, Sevilla.
DISAPPOINTMENT FOR DISS IN OPENING HOME GAME
Diss Town suffered a 2-0 defeat against local rivals Debenham in their first home game of the season. The Tangerines put in a disappointing showing after a fine away victory at the weekend. They conceded a goal in each half, rarely threatening the visitors’ goal.
The game saw a debut for their latest signing, midfielder Owen Betts from Harleston Town, who joins following Harleston’s relegation back into the Anglian Combination.
