ANOTHER ROUND OF WINTRY WEATHER ON THE WAY
There’s a warning that winter could be on its way back at the weekend with possible snow falls.
Sleet or snow is likely on Friday night as temperatures dip with more snow expected in places from Saturday evening into Sunday.
Strong winds may cause drifting with some disruption.
However, weathermen say it won’t be as bad as the recent ‘beast from the east’ spell of weather and milder temperatures are expected to return early next week.
CARNIVAL ORGANISERS APPEAL FOR HELP
Organisers of Diss Carnival have put out an appeal for help from the public to make this year’s event the best yet.
They’re asking for volunteers and sponsors to come forward to support the carnival, to be held on Sunday June 10th.
A carnival spokesman says that they need help to get the best out of the event including volunteers to help behind the scenes, join in the procession, help visitors and run stalls while local firms are asked to sponsor stalls, t-shirts and decorations.
TRAIN COMPANY COULD SEE VISIT FROM BAILIFFS
A Halesworth man has won a court claim for compensation against Greater Anglia.
Commuter Seph Pochin took the rail company to small-claims court over continual delays to train services that he used.
Greater Anglia now face a visit from the bailiffs unless they pay an award of £350 agreed as compensation.
THOUSANDS OF AREA KIDS FAIL TO SEE A DENTIST IN 2017
Latest figures show that about 40 percent of children in Norfolk and Suffolk failed to visit the dentist last year.
Over 74,000 children in Norfolk didn’t get their teeth checked and the figure in Suffolk was more than 60,000.
Dentists say they fear a crisis in dental health and point out that NHS check-ups are free for children, who may find their teeth badly affected in later life.
Ipswich Town crashed to a disappointing 3-0 home defeat last night against Hull City, winners over Norwich at the weekend.
City were also in action claiming a point in a 1-1 draw at Barnsley, thanks to a Murphy goal.
Elsewhere….Diss Town’s postponed game at Needham Market last night has now been re-arranged for Tuesday, March 27th.
