POLICE IN DRAMATIC CAR CHASE ACROSS SOUTH NORFOLK
Police have asked for anyone with information to contact them about a dramatic incident, involving a car chase across South Norfolk roads.
Police cars pursued a vehicle with false number plates, after it failed to stop on the outskirts of Norwich. The chase came to an end just outside Diss, when the car being chased was abandoned after it came off the road, near the town’s golf club.
The occupants, believed to be four men, managed to escape, despite police calling in a drone and a dog unit to search nearby land. A police vehicle was reversed into and rammed by the chased car during the incident on Sunday night.
ANOTHER COLLISION ON MAIN ROAD
A man is in hospital after a two-car collision on the main road between Diss and Attleborough.
The man, in his 60s, has been taken to Addenbrooke’s hospital with serious head injuries. The driver of the other car received only minor injuries. Fire crews had to use rescue and cutting equipment to release the two drivers.
The accident happened on the B1077 at Short Green near Hall Road yesterday. The road was closed for about five hours, with traffic having to be diverted around Winfarthing.
THREE-CAR CRASH CLOSES A140 AT RUSH-HOUR
And a rush-hour collision involving three vehicles has closed the A140 near Long Stratton this morning.
The incident caused long delays for motorists going in both directions close to Wood Lane, as fire crews cleaned up a fuel leak on the road surface.
PAINT-BALL GUN FIRED AT CARS
Police are investigating after cars in Diss town centre came under attack from a so-called sniper using a paintball gun.
At least four cars were hit in Victoria Road during the incident at the weekend, although it’s thought other cars were also targeted. It’s understood that no permanent damage was caused to the cars that were hit.
