POLICE ARREST A MAN OVER A BREAK-IN AND DAMAGE AT EYE TOWN HALL
Police say they’ve carried out an arrest in connection with a break-in at Eye Town Hall nearly a year ago.
A 47 year old man has been arrested in Cumbria on suspicion of burglary. He’s been questioned and has now been released under investigation, pending further enquiries.
The incident happened sometime over a weekend at the end of March and early April last year. A forced entry was made into the building and damage caused to valuable historic paintings and antique furniture inside.
PLANS UNDERWAY FOR NEW LEISURE CENTRE BUILDING IN DISS
It’s been confirmed that plans are underway to provide a brand new leisure centre for Diss.
South Norfolk councillor Graham Minshull, from Diss, has told Park Radio that the council is now working to secure a new site for the centre.
The council has had long-term hopes to replace the current centre in Victoria Road, despite recent improvements, because the site is restricted for further development.
Several sites are being considered for a new multi-million pound building in the town, following recent major refurbishment at the Long Stratton and Wymondham centres.
POLICE ASK FOR HELP IN FINDING WOMAN
Police are asking for help over a woman with Diss connections.
37 year old Kelly Anne Fitzgerald is wanted for return to prison, after breaching the terms of her licence. It’s believed that she is in the South Norfolk or Norwich areas, as she has connections in Diss, Costessey and Norwich.
NHS TRUST CHIEF EXECUTIVE DECIDES TO STEP DOWN
The chief executive of the troubled Norfolk and Suffolk national health trust is leaving.
Anton Lejk had been in the position since last May, after moving from the South and North Norfolk primary care trust, where he was chief officer. He will take up a secondment in East London and an interim replacement will be announced shortly by the trust, which remains in special measures.
