ONE PERSON HURT IN ROAD COLLISION AT REDGRAVE
Emergency services, including the air ambulance, have been called out to a road collision at Redgrave.
The incident happened this morning in Fen Street at the junction with the B1113 main road. Police say one person has been taken to hospital with serious injuries. The road remained closed for most of the day, with a diversion in place.
APPEAL FOR INFORMATION ON COLD CASE MURDER AT EYE
A new appeal for information has been made by police looking to solve a murder case at Eye 10 years ago.
Police say that it is ‘very possible’ that someone living in the Eye area has information that could provide the key to unlocking the mystery of the case. Detectives are running a cold-case inquiry into the death of 73-year-old retired thatcher, Richard Clarke in August 2009.
The father of two was found with a fatal head injury in the driveway of his home in Cranley Green Road, on the outskirts of the town. Post-mortems suggested that he had been attacked, but despite a major investigation, no killer was found. A man, arrested soon after the death, was released without charge.
ONE MAN SHOW COMES TO TOWN
South Norfolk entertainer and panto star Ben Langley is bringing his own stage show to Diss this weekend.
Ben, from Shimpling, will be appearing in his one-man show at the Corn Hall tomorrow night. He’s been a regular in pantos at the Theatre Royal in Norwich for years and also appeared on TV on Britain’s Got Talent.
BANK HOLIDAY MATCHES FOR LOCAL TEAMS
Following their midweek win, Norwich City are back in action at Carrow Road tomorrow against Chelsea. Ipswich hope to keep up their unbeaten run in League One, when they travel to take on troubled Bolton Wanderers. The home side have yet to win this season.
There’s no game tomorrow for Diss Town, but in the Anglian Combination, Harleston travel to mid-table Blofield after successive victories, while Scole United chase another win at home to Caister.
