COLLISION BLOCKS MAIN ROAD
An accident has blocked the A140 main road at Brome this afternoon.
A number of people are said to have been hurt in the crash, involving a car and a van. The accident happened close to the junction with the B1118, with a diversion set up as emergency services dealt with the incident. Oil also had to be cleaned off the carriageway.
ANOTHER WINDY WEEKEND
It looks like yet another weekend of stormy weather is on the way for Norfolk and Suffolk.
The strong winds are expected to start early on Saturday morning, reaching up to 45 miles an hour at times, and continuing until Sunday late morning. The gales are not expected to be as severe as on previous weekends in this area.
MUSIC LESSONS FACE CUTS
The teaching of music in Norfolk’s schools is facing major cuts.
The number of music tutors could be reduced from 46 to just 21, with retained tutors having to teach several instruments. The county’s music service is set to make a loss of £700,000 this year.
EYE SET TO MARK V.E. DAY
A series of events is being lined up in the Eye area to mark the 75th anniversary of V.E. Day later this year. The events will take place over five days in early May around the area.
PUB GOES ON SHORTLIST
A community pub in Garboldisham has been included on the short-list for a national award. The Fox Inn has gone through to the regional finals of this year’s Countryside Alliance awards.
